Corpus Callosum present the Spreaders!
1.) If you could just first name the members of your group and what your current set up is?
John piergiorgi - Guitar/synth
Scott Owen- Guitar/pedals
2.) What is your favorite venue and why?
J - The Upstate Artist Guild in Albany NY. We were first invited there to play Bone Parade's record release party, and fell in love. Its a great space that draws some great artist/people.
S - The UAG in Albany because we met wicked stupid dope fresh dumb fly noise musciains
3.) What was your favorite show?
J - may 2nd 2009.
At 12:00 pm we played our local Skateboard park at this benefit show which was a blast, then at about 9pm that night we played a house party that ended up deep in the woods of Warwick NY on a flatbed platform with a generator.
S - Mike V's house Party. bon fires, flatbeds and broken P A's
4.) Could you tell me a little bit about the history of your group and the discography?
J - We started as some form of nonsense "thrashpunk" in 2008 with 4 members total. I played drums and scott played bass and we were just awful. After losing members one by one, scott and I began tooling around with guitars. We had put out almost 4 demos as this line up, before our first "real" release which ended up being a two part release; The friends ep on the lovely and amazing Corpus Callosum label, and The pets ep, on Puzzle from germany. We also started a stupid little tape label BABYSUNGHXING tapes, and just released a split cassette with AL QAEDA.
also also also Clan Destine record just put out a brutal Spreaders/ Child Digester split cassette
S- Yo I'm hurt like Larry Vatooli
5.) What are your major influences?
J - Kraftwerk
S - Coil
6.) Do you have a musical philosophy? Why do you make music?
J - I love that pre-punk early NY school of confrontation, and I love the idea of Alan Vega putting chains on the doors of venues so people can't leave, or Iggy pop ripping his chest open with glass, or patty smith falling off the stage....Recently I've heard people call it the "new music" but its all the same to me. Rock n roll, right?
S - for brothers, you know that daimon flick.
7.) What do you see in the future for the group? Any goals?
J - Tours, Shows. releases
